About Us

Aikido is a method inspired from traditional Japanese warfare. These traditional methods of fighting, still untouched to this day, are called Kobudu. But Aikido does not belong to that group.

The founder of Aikido, Morihei Ueshiba, was tremendously skilled in various traditional Japanese martial arts. He used the best of each of those methods to create his very own innovative method; a brand new martial arts for today’s generation.

Developing and transcending one’s soul is the cornerstone of Aikido. In O’Sensei’s words “Never stop building your mind and your body. Elevate your nature since that is the first principle in Aikido.”

Moral values such as courage, decency, chivalry, honesty, fairness, and self-sacrifice have always been an inseparable part of Aikido practice. Every technique and movement in Aikido is inspired from nature.

Reza Samadi Sensei has been practicing under the direct supervision of Arai Shihan since 1993. Arai Shihan is in fact the chairman of the Gunma Aikido Federation and is one of the few remaining students of the founder, Morihei Ueshiba, as well as a key member of Hombu Dojo. Samadi Sensei has been practicing with great perseverance for 25 years, attending classes taught by great Aikido teachers in Hombu Dojo and other dojos of Japan. He currently holds a 5th Dan in Aikido.

Samadi Sensei is the sole Iranian aikido teacher who has the international instructor certificate making him able to teach Aikido anywhere in the world. He has travelled as an instructor and also as the uchi deshi of Doshu Moriteru Ueshiba, the chairman of the International Aikido Federation, along with Arai Shihan and other important aikido instructors.

After years of dedication and practice of Aikido, Samadi Sensei decided to share his valuable experience with the learners and enthusiasts of this martial art with the help and under the supervision of the Martial Arts Federation of Iran. Right now he is the director of Iran Aikido Arai Dojo and also the representative of the Martial Arts Federation of Iran in the International Aikido Federation.

The goal of Iran Arai Dojo is to further develop the technical proficiency of the learners and instructors of Aikido in Iran using the advanced and genuine method of Aikido which is compatible with Japan’s standards. Samadi Sensei hopes to achieve a union of all the aikidokas from all groups and styles, active in Iran, to be able to teach and update Iran’s Aikido as a whole, making the Iranian flag known among the world’s aikido community.
